Cycling for Fitness - Road Bikes

Cycling is a great cardiovascular workout. There are several forms of cycling such as endurance rides, hill and speed training, time trials, and strength and lactate threshold sessions.

Road bikes have thinner tires for less resistance with the ground. They typically have multiple gears, although some do have a fixed gear. The handle bars are curved down to put the rider in a more bent over position. This allows for better aerodynamics. Road bikes also have a lighter frame which allows for faster speed.

I got my first road bike a few months ago and I was stoked to say the least. For those of you not familiar with road bikes, they are super fast and easy to peddle.

Road bikes allow you to peddle for much longer distances than a mountain bike or comfort bike. I can ride about 20 miles now and I never thought that was possible.

Cycling is a great cardio exercise and it's fun too. You can't beat that.
