| Fasting for Weight Loss
Fasting to lose weight might not be the best method for you. If you only need to lose that weight and keep it off for one night (like hollywood stars do at red carpets) then fasting is perfect. As long as you fast the proper way.
However, if you are looking for long term weight loss, fasting alone is not the answer. You will definitely lose weight by not eating, however as soon as you do start eating again you will gain that weight back again unless you start an exercise program and change your diet.
There are any number of fasts out there and they can help you with your relationship to food. They can make your stomach shrink so smaller portion sizes will fill you up. But your stomach can also easily stretch back out. This is why it is key to also change your diet and begin a work out plan after you are done with the fast.
So if you want to cleanse yourself and see food in a new light, then go ahead and fast. But if you want a permanent weight loss solution, try the good old tried and true approach of taking in less calories than you expend.
