| Fasting - Detox Your Body
Whether you are for fasting or against it, there's no denying it's history and longevity. It's been around since ancient times and seems to still be going strong. There are juice fasts, all liquid fasts, lemonade fasts, raw food fasts and then fasts where you only drink water.
Fasts also vary in length from one day to one month or more. I tried a veggie broth, fruit juice, tea and water fast. I essentially wanted to keep all of my vitamins and calorie intake as normal as I could while detoxifying my body.
Fasting is definitely not for everyone. There were some really rough days, but there were also some incredible days where I felt like my eyes were HD because I could see everything so clearly.
I wasn't in a constant state of hunger either. It was weird but the juices, water and tea really kept me full. I know it sounds crazy, but trust me.
I ended up going 7 days on the fast and broke it by eating half an apple. I was stuffed. It's a good way to get away from bad foods and sort of realign your relationship with food. It puts you back in power.
It was weird to know that I could not just survive without food, but actually feel really good without it. And it helped me keep my portion controls in check. So if you're up for the challenge, I would definitely recommend fasting!
