Fasting Journal - Day 3 of Juice Fast

Woke up went for short 10 min walk around the block. I've read its good to keep exercising so your body eats the fat vs the muscles.

Fasting Menu:

Breakfast: Organic Lemon Balm Tea - .5L

Snacks: bottled water

Lunch: Naked brand mango juice

Took a short 1/2 mile walk.

Dinner: veggie broth - water

Snack: Detox tea

Hoping my cravings won't be so bad today. I woke up and felt tired and a little weak. But not really hungry.

My cravings right now are under control. Evening seems to be a hard time for me. Work seems to keep my mind off things and luckily for me my coworkers don't eat very appetizing things - more just microwave dinners - so I don't crave their food when they make it.

My tongue was a bit white when I woke up - perhaps the detox is working? (some believe that the white tongue shows toxins escaping) Too soon to tell.

Morning - 10am I drank my tea already and am starting to get hungry. Better get a bottle of water soon. The more you
drink water - the less hungry you are all day.

Ugg... 10:30 - still using the restroom frequently... when will this stop? Can't possibly still be the laxatives.

Tip: Water is key in fighting hunger pains.

So what's the key to fighting cravings? Keep your mind occupied on something else like work, reading book, taking walk, or sleeping.

This is not easy. It's definitely a test of will! I am fighting. But I am weak and want to eat!!!

Maybe after lunch I will feel better. Maybe I'll also take a walk
around my office neighborhood to get the blood flowing ... but I really just want to sleep.

I am getting the chills now 11:04am. Shaking a little. This is so weird, but cool to have a new experience in life. That's what it's all about right?

I just read that juice fasts are good, but its best to make
your own juice and ensure its pulp free. Pulp makes the digestive system work and therefore makes you feel
hunger.

12:00 p.m. I drank half my juice (8oz) and feeling MUCH better! Also drank a bottle of water .5L. Saving my juice for
later if I go to mall with girls. Went outside and sat on porch for fresh air. Good stuff!. Naked brand Mango juice is freaking delicious. Definitely my favorite juice so far.

Have been getting the chills on and off.

1:50pm: experiencing a high. I feel good, strong and healthy. Going to go get more water.

.5L bottle of water.

3:23pm the day is flying by. I was feeling great. Now I feel a little rumbling in my tummy. I am hungry. Better drink another .5L of water.

4:22p - Getting chills pretty bad. Temperature of the room hasn't changed - toxins - get out!!

Okay so my evening was a little rough. Had some hunger pains. Ate the veggie broth and had what was left of my juice
and then around 3 cups of water.

Then I went to the mall and got new glasses. I was very dehydrated at mall - didn't bring water (oops).

Walking by California Pizza Kitchen was difficult. Every now and again my brain says, "hey what are we doing just eat. It's so easy to get food, just eat".

But then I resist and get a feeling of joy for sticking to my guns and being strong. Definitely a self confidence booster.

When we came home we had detox tea and a bunch of water. I did a few push ups to keep my muscles active so my body
doesn't try to eat my muscles first (protein is easier to break down than fat so that is where the body goes first - also
why low fat diets became popular).
