| Is Fasting Safe?
The answer to this question depends on who you ask. Many people believe that yes, fasting is completely save. It has been done by religious people for many years. Some doctors have overseen 90,000 successful fasts.
Others feel that fasting slows down the metabolism and can put stress on the body causing other serious issues. As with anything you should consult your doctor before fasting.
If you doctor says it's okay for you to fast, start out with a raw food fast where you can eat only uncooked unprocessed food for 10 - 30 days. Then from there you can try a juice fast where you can drink fresh fruit and vegetable juice for 10 days.
Most doctors recommend only fasting 3 times a year, so be sure to spread your fasts out.
