| What is Fasting?
Fasting is primarily the act of willingly abstaining from some or all food, drink, or both, for a period of time. Today many people fast to lose weight, detoxify their bodies or for religious reasons.
There are many types of fasts such as juice fasts, raw food fast, water fasts, and fasts where you neight eat or drink anything for a day or two.
Fasts can be a great way to help with food addictions. Fasts can help detox the body so we no longer crave those bad fats and sugars.
It is considered fasting when a person hasn't consumed food in 8 - 12 hours. This is where the word "breakfast" came from as we sleep approximately 8 hours and weak up to break the fast = breakfast.
