| Yoga Strengthens and Tones - Great Fitness Exercise
Yoga is a great way to strengthen your muscles while stretching them. There are many forms of yoga and they go from very easy to extremely challenging.
My favorite form of yoga is estanga yoga or power yoga. These classes really work up a good sweat and I am exhausted at the end but in a good way.
My friend's favorite class is Bikram yoga where they turn up the heat in the class and everyone sweats puddles. You're going to want to bring a bottle of water to this class and a towel or two.
Yoga refers to traditional mental and physical disciplines originating in India. Yoga combines controlled breathing techniques with strength and stretching poses.
Some yoga studios offer mats for rent, but you might want to get your own. Thicker mats will help cushion your knees and back during some yoga movements. You also want to make sure the yoga mat has traction so you don't slip off of it during a pose. More yoga mat information.
