Zumba - Cardio Fitness

Zumba is a sort of latin/hip hop dance class that gets your heart rate up while you're having a good time.

The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat.

This is combined with some some Latin dance flavor and international zest.

Where Did Zumba Come From?

Zumba was created by celebrity fitness trainer, "Beto" Perez, in Columbia the mid-1990s.

One day, he walked into his aerobics class and realized he had forgotten his aerobics music. Thinking quickly, he grabbed whatever tapes he had in his backpack, which were traditional Latin salsa and merengue music.

He then improvised a whole class on the spot using non-traditional aerobics music. And from this last-minute improvisation Zumba was born.
